Spirituality of the Sisters of The Cross-Sharing

Report on the Sharing of the Spirituality of the Sisters of the Cross

The Sisters of the Cross of Chavanod, Tenali Province, organized a meaningful sharing of the Spirituality of the Sisters of the Cross in two groups in February and March 2026. The aim of this session was to deepen the understanding of the congregation’s charism and renewing the spiritual life of the sisters through the spirituality of the Cross. The sessions were effectively facilitated by Srs. Priyanthi, Matilda, Helen Daisy, and Saveri, whose guidance helped to create an atmosphere of prayer, reflection, openness, and spiritual enrichment.

The spirituality sharing was deeply rooted in the theme of Kenosis — the self-emptying love of Christ — and the inspiring life and vision of the founders and early sisters. Through reflective inputs, group interactions, and personal sharing, the sisters were invited to contemplate the call to humility, simplicity, sacrifice, and loving service in their daily consecrated life.

The sessions became a sacred space where the participants could revisit their foundational experience, vocation journey and rediscover the essence of religious life in the light of the founders’ spirituality and the spirituality of the Cross that was evolving. The sharing was profound and life-giving, touching various dimensions of personal and community life. The sisters openly shared their experiences of faith, struggles, mission, and moments of grace, which fostered mutual understanding, encouragement, and spiritual communion among the participants.

The sharing also emphasized the importance of living the spirit of kenosis in today’s mission context — by embracing selfless service, compassionate relationships, inner freedom, and joyful surrender to God’s will. The reflections inspired the sisters to renew their commitment to the congregation’s mission and to become authentic witnesses of Gospel values in their communities and ministries.

Overall, the spirituality sharing proved to be a deeply enriching and transformative experience. It strengthened the sisters spiritually, revitalized their sense of belonging to the congregation, and encouraged them to continue their mission with renewed faith, zeal, and dedication. The programme concluded with heartfelt gratitude to the almighty God and the facilitators for their inspiring accompaniment and to all the participants for their sincere and prayerful involvement.
